T-28 Trojan

The North American T-28 Trojan was an American piston-engine trainer aircraft designed to prepare pilots for the transition to more advanced military aircraft. It first flew in 1949 and became the standard primary trainer of the United States Air Force and Navy during the 1950s and 1960s. With its powerful radial engine and rugged construction, the T-28 was well suited to the demanding training environment and became one of the most recognizable American trainer aircraft of the post-war era.

Although primarily designed as a trainer, the T-28 Trojan also saw combat service, particularly during the Vietnam War, where modified versions were used for light attack and close air support missions. Its distinctive shape, large radial engine and military markings have made it a popular subject for aviation enthusiasts and aircraft artists. Today, surviving T-28s can still be seen flying at airshows and in private collections, making the aircraft an excellent subject for an aircraft wallpaper featuring classic military aviation.
